Our Copyright Policy
RankOrbit respects the intellectual property rights of all content creators, publishers, and organisations. We respond promptly to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and analogous Indian copyright law under the Copyright Act, 1957.
All content uploaded to RankOrbit is required to be original, licensed, or in the public domain. Content that infringes copyright is strictly prohibited and will be removed upon verified notice.
What Constitutes Infringement
Copyright infringement on RankOrbit may include:
- Uploading complete chapters from copyrighted textbooks (e.g., NCERT, S. Chand, Arihant) without authorisation
- Reproducing copyrighted examination question papers beyond fair use
- Uploading study materials from commercial coaching institutes without permission
- Reproducing copyrighted images, diagrams, or illustrations
How to Submit a Takedown Notice
To file a DMCA takedown notice, email legal@rankorbit.in with the subject line "DMCA Takedown Notice". Your notice must include:
- Your full legal name and contact details (email, phone, address)
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- The exact URL(s) of the infringing content on RankOrbit
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on behalf of the owner
- Your physical or electronic signature
Our Response Process

Counter-Notice
If you believe content was removed in error, you may file a counter-notice to legal@rankorbit.in stating that you have a good faith belief that the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification. Counter-notices must include your name, address, contact details, identification of the removed content, and a statement consenting to jurisdiction of the Indian courts.
Repeat Infringers
RankOrbit maintains a policy of terminating accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers. Users with three or more verified copyright violations will have their accounts permanently suspended and IP addresses flagged.
Fair Use
RankOrbit and its users may reproduce limited portions of copyrighted content under the doctrine of fair use/fair dealing for educational, commentary, or research purposes. Factors considered include: purpose and character of use, nature of the copyrighted work, amount reproduced relative to the whole, and effect on the market for the original work.
